The Padron Executive Maduro is very long, which tells me I better wait until I have plenty of time on my hands to fully enjoy it. The dark wrapper is oily and rough. Some medium veins are visible, but no major imperfections. The cigar feels firm to the touch and lacks soft spots. I sense a chocolate scent and a coffee flavor prior to lighting that really get my appetite going.
I’ve rarely had burn issues with Padron cigars in the past. Luckily, the same holds true with the Executive Maduro. It has an excellent draw, burns slowly, and exhibits long gray ash. Smoking time is around 90 minutes. No touch-ups or re-lights are needed.
In terms of the cigar’s flavor, some may find the Padron Executive Maduro to not be multi-dimensional enough. Personally, I believe it has just enough balance and consistency to keep things interesting throughout the duration of the smoke. It begins with chocolate and coffee, and moves on to a nice mix of pepper, leather, and sweetness.
The Padron Executive Maduro is another solid smoke from the brand. Pick one up if you enjoy Padron cigars, puros, or Maduro wrappers. Beginners should stay away, as it is probably too strong. At $7 per single, it’s a good value.
The Padron Executive Maduro earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.
