The Haven is an attractive cigar that has an art deco flair to it thanks to the decorative band near the head. It displays the Santos de Miami moniker and the Jameson Cigar Co. name among a color scheme of aqua, orange, and white. Football fans will probably be reminded of the Miami Dolphins when looking at the band’s colors. The dark chocolate wrapper has an oily sheen and a few veins here and there. The box-pressed shape of the Santos de Miami is one of the most precise that I have ever seen. The pigtail cap is also done to perfection. In short, this is a beautiful stick. I feel no soft spots. The pre-light aroma is sweet and so is the cold taste.

Once in action, the Santos de Miami Haven performs like a champ. This is a nice surprise, since some box-pressed cigars tend to have burn issues. The burn stays even on its own, despite one part when it acts as if it wants to stray. The draw is just right and there’s plenty of smoke. The light gray ash is solid. No re-lights are needed at all.

The Santos de Miami Haven is not only pretty to look at, but it’s also flavorful. The first third features mild pepper, chocolate, and some sweetness. The pepper intensifies just a bit in the second third and mixes with more chocolate, earth, and cedar. The final third is all cedar and wood.

I was impressed by the Jameson Santos de Miami. It’s a nice stogie to light up during the daytime and would mix nicely with a cup of coffee. The cigar really impressed me with its appearance, but the burn and flavors exhibited were satisfactory as well. You can find the Haven in boxes of 10, with a single hovering around the $8 mark. Fans of medium-bodied cigars should definitely keep the Santos de Miami in mind.

The Jameson Santos de Miami Haven earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.
