Summary Not the right month for this review. In September, one of the "Perdomo Reserve" Series popped up in the Overall TOP25. The No. 3 popped up as not that good in our review. First, let's take a look at the shape of this cigar. This will most likely go down as firmly establishing what morons we can be. Anyway...how do you light this thing? That damn little nib on the end IS NOT condusive to a smooth burn. It may look cool, but cool does not equal functional in this case. All our reviewers bitched about how this burned. That is those that didn't clip off the nib. Anyway, we're not real big on clipping both ends of a cigar, and if you don't clip both ends, this thing burns like crap. Built like a tank. Box-press is always beautiful, and in this case that rings true. The wrapper is fantastic, dark, rich and oily. They look sensational sitting in your humidor! The "figurado" shape of this smoke may be to drastic though . Some of the panel commented on a difficult draw, most likely from the extreme taper in the body of this cigar. Sadly, not many of the folk rating this cigar really liked it...at all. It was tough to hide what this was, and therefore there were some high expectations. The majority of the reviewers mentioned a taste, albeit unpleasant, that stuck with you for a long time after smoking this cigar. Reviewers mentioned the strength of this cigar, and none in a pleasant way. Sadly, nobody wanted any more of the samples. We can't help but give this line of cigars another chance. We do love the looks of this smoke, and like some of the things Nick's is doing. Look for us to review the "X" in upcoming months. With all that being said, we can't recommend this cigar, but would really like to. It's good looking and rather inexpensive, but it was not a pleasant experience. Vital Statistics: Shape = Perfecto (box press) Length = 5 1/2" RG = 55 Wrapper = Ecuador Filler = Nicaragua Binder = Nicaragua Estimated Cost = $5.75
