The Perdomo Alabao Toro is an attractive cigar. The decorative band is large and calls attention with its red, black, and gold colors. It showcases the Alabao name in cursive. The cigar itself has a medium brown wrapper that features a few prominent veins but no major imperfections. Some oil is present. The cigar appears to be well-packed with tobacco and lacks any soft spots. Before lighting, I detect an aroma of cedar. The cold taste is an inviting mix of coffee and cocoa.
Perdomo makes quality cigars, so I am not surprised that the Alabao Toro burns without any negative issues. The draw is good and there is plenty of smoke. The gray ash is firm. Only a couple of minor touch-ups are needed. I really cannot complain in this department.
I must say that the different flavors presented by the Alabao Toro are very enjoyable. The cigar is smooth, yet complex. The first third starts off a pleasant ride with coffee, sweetness, and nuts. The second third offers up more coffee and sweetness and introduces some spice. The final third rounds out the smoking experience with cedar, nuts, and cocoa. This is a great cigar to pair with a cup of coffee.
So, did the Perdomo Alabao wow me? I’m not sure I would go that far, but it is a very good cigar. It’s smooth and flavorful, making it a great choice for beginners or experienced smokers seeking a tasty and relaxing smoke. At $6 to $7 per single, the Alabao is fairly priced. Pick up a five pack or box of 20 to keep around the house. You won’t regret it.
The Perdomo Alabao Toro earns a rating of 3.75 out of four stars.
