Since the Gold Label Gold Bar is rather thick, it put me in the mindset to expect a lot of flavor. Did it deliver in that aspect? Yes, it did. The Gold Bar starts off sweet with mild spice and coffee in the first third. The second third continues with the sweet and spicy notes, but adds nuts and chocolate into the mix. The final third finishes up with chocolate, coffee, and creaminess for a pleasant ending.
I really enjoyed the variety of flavors and the overall smoothness of the Macanudo Gold Label Gold Bar. It’s a great cigar to get your morning started off on the right foot, and beginners can enjoy it as well due to its mild strength. A single sells for about $8, and you can also find it in packs of 5 or boxes of 21. I’d pick up a five pack to keep around as a complement to some coffee in the morning every now and then.
The Macanudo Gold Label Gold Bar earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.
E.P. Carrillo Atlantic 15th Anniversary Toro

Earlier this week we took a look at the Oliva Atlantic Cigar 15th Aniversario Diadema, a cigar which was produced exclusively for Atlantic Cigar to celebrate the retailer’s 15th anniversary. To maintain that theme, we are also going to review the E.P. Carrillo Atlantic 15th Anniversary. This limited release was blended by Ernesto Perez-Carrillo for Atlantic Cigar. How limited is it? According to Atlantic’s website, only 500 boxes of 10 were produced.
The E.P. Carrillo Atlantic 15th Anniversary Toro measures 6 x 54. The cigar features a filler blend of aged Dominican and Nicaraguan tobaccos and a Nicaraguan binder. Completing the composition is a Brazilian Maduro wrapper. This is the only cigar released for Atlantic Cigar’s 15th anniversary that comes wrapped in a Maduro leaf. As for the cigar’s strength, it’s listed as medium to full-bodied.
