Moving on to the flavor department, I would call the Macanudo Maduro Hyde Park a decent, but not complex cigar. Mild spice is first noticed once the cigar is lit, and it is soon joined by coffee. The mild spice continues into the second third and is joined by earth and coffee. The final third offers up more spicy notes plus wood and sweetness.
The Macanudo Maduro Hyde Park is a solid cigar, but not an exceptional one. I did enjoy the cigar, but it just did not blow me away. Pick one up of you are a beginner looking to try a Maduro, or if you enjoy mild Macanudo offerings. A single goes for around $7, and you can also find the Hyde Park in boxes of 25.
The Macanudo Maduro Hyde Park earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.
Macanudo Gold Label Duke of York

Macanudo’s Gold Label line was named after the color of the special wrapper leaves used in its composition. While it is said to be smooth like many other Macanudo smokes, the Gold Label supposedly brings some new flavor to the table. I enjoy smooth cigars, especially in the morning, so I am hoping that this Gold Label Duke of York offers some interesting flavors within its milder profile.
The Macanudo Gold Label Duke of York measures 5 ¼ x 54. It also comes in several other sizes: the 5 x 54 Somerset, 5 ½ x 50 Crystal Tube, 6 x 52 Tudor, 6 ½ x 45 Shakespeare, and the 7 x 49 Lord Nelson. The cigar’s filler is made up of Dominican Piloto Cubano and Mexican tobaccos, while the binder consists of Mexican San Andrean tobacco taken from the plant’s first and second primings. The wrapper is of the Golden Shade Connecticut variety, and it is also taken from the first and second primings. Strength-wise, the Gold Label can be described as being medium-bodied.
