The Romeo y Julieta Vintage Maduro gives off a positive first impression once I remove it from its decorative tubo with its dark, oily wrapper. The cigar is free of any major flaws and has a few medium-sized veins. The decorative band near the head is rather simple, and it displays the Romeo y Julieta Vintage Maduro name over a black and white color scheme. As far as I can tell, there are no soft spots. The pre-light aroma is of cedar, while the taste is spicy.
After lighting the Vintage Maduro Corona with ease, the cigar burns without any real problems. The draw is good, and the amount of smoke produced is plentiful. The light gray ash is solid. No touch-ups or re-lights are needed at all.
In terms of flavor, I'd call the Romeo y Julieta Vintage Maduro entertaining. It begins with some cedar notes that combine with sweet and spicy notes in the first third. The second third picks up in strength with its spice and introduces a tobacco flavor into the mix. The final third gets smoother once again, featuring wood, sweetness, and tasty chocolate.
There are not too many complaints to be made when it comes to the Romeo y Julieta Vintage Maduro Corona. The cigar was enjoyable in all aspects. I don’t know if I would call it memorable, but I was not disappointed with my purchase. The Vintage Maduro comes in boxes of 12 or packs of five, with a single selling for around $10 each. That price seems to vary depending on where you shop, however. Pick one up if you like Maduro wrappers or cigars with a spicy profile.
The Romeo y Julieta Vintage Maduro Corona earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.
