The first flavor I detect when smoking the 1948 Edicion Limitada is mild spice. This remains for most of the first third until cedar and sweetness come into play. The second third is spicy and sweet, but wood appears as well along with some earth. The final third is a blend of cinnamon, coffee, and cedar.
I don’t really have any complaints to report with the 1948 Edicion Limitada. It’s a well-made cigar that has a decent amount of flavor. The overall smoothness makes it a good cigar for the earlier parts of the day, and I could imagine giving it a try with some coffee in the morning. Unfortunately, these are hard to find, so I don’t know how I will get another one without the help of my buddy who was kind enough to gift me this one that I sampled for this review.
The Padilla 1948 Edicion Limitada earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.
Aging Room Havao Treble

For my second review of the day, I am taking a closer look at the Aging Room Havao. Aging Room is a brand that is known for making cigars in smaller batches. Luckily, unlike the 1948 Edicion Limitada from Padilla, these are pretty easy to find on the internet, and I decided to go with one in the line’s Treble format for this particular review.
The Aging Room Havao Treble measures 6 x 50. Other sizes in the line include the 5 x 48 Imprompto, 5 1/4 x 42 Brio, 6 x 46 Canon, 6 1/4 x 52 Sharp, and the 7 x 50 Largo. Smokers in Europe get one extra size in the form of the 5 x 38 Breve. The interior of the Aging Room Havao is made up of a Dominican Havano Criollo filler and binder, while the wrapper is Ecuadorian Connecticut. The strength of the Havao is said to be medium-bodied.
