The Exhibicion Sun Grown looks good from the start. The wrapper is light brown in color, and the overall appearance of the cigar is inviting, similar to other Perdomo selections that I have sampled. There’s a nice sheen of oil, as well as some diminutive veins. The cigar feels very smooth to the touch overall. It also feels firm and lacks soft spots. The band near the head adds plenty of aesthetic appeal. It features the Tabacalera Perdomo logo and the Exhibicion moniker. I pick up a cold taste and aroma that are both sweet prior to lighting.
The Exhibicion Sun Grown Churchill lights with ease. The draw is superb, and there’s no shortage of smoke that is produce. The burn does require a few touch-ups along the way, but nothing that cannot be handled with a little help from the lighter. The ash is solid and white in color. The burn is slow. Overall, Perdomo gets a satisfactory grade here.
Now it’s on to the interesting part – the Exhibicion’s flavor. The cigar kicks off with a cinnamon that’s very smooth and relaxing. The cinnamon is soon joined by a sweet flavor for a rather mild beginning. The second third is where stronger spice appears. It’s not overwhelming by any means, but it does let you know that it’s there. I also detect some earth in the second third. The spiciness continues with some decent kick into the final third, until it dissipates and gives way to wood and cedar.
As I said, Perdomo has impressed me in the past, and it did it again with the Exhibicion Sun Grown Churchill. I wouldn’t call it overly complex, but it’s definitely enjoyable. The Sun Grown Churchill comes in boxes of 20. A single sells for around $7.50. While it isn’t cheap, I definitely recommend giving one a try if you enjoy Sun Grown wrappers or the Perdomo brand.
The Perdomo Exhibicion Sun Grown Churchill earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.
