Right off the bat I am impressed with the Blue Label Delicias’ appearance. The label is gorgeous and features the Don Pepin Garcia name in fancy font over a mostly blue and gold color scheme. This band is supposedly new, as the company decided to revamp the look of some of its cigars to provide uniformity across the brand. The cigar itself is medium-brown with some oil on the surface. A few minor veins are visible, but no major imperfections. The cigar feels firm to the touch and appears to have solid construction overall. I detect a peppery taste prior to lighting and an earthy scent.
The Blue Label Delicias lights with ease and burns like a good cigar should. The draw is good and there is a large volume of smoke that fills the air. There is no need for touch-ups or re-lights. The solid gray ash keeps my shirt clean.
In terms of flavor, the Blue Label Delicias is tasty with some kick. The first third is mostly pepper that awakens the senses. The second third features more pepper and introduces chocolate and wood into the mix. The final third is a blend of leather, chocolate, and earth. It’s not the most complex cigar in the world, but it offers enough variation to keep things interesting.
The Don Pepin Garcia Blue Label Delicias was as good as advertised. This is definitely a cigar for experienced smokers who enjoy Nicaraguan puros and the classic Pepin flavor. A single sells for around $7 to $8 each, and you can find the Delicias in packs of five or boxes of 25. I’d say you should at least give a pack of five a try. You won’t be disappointed.
The Don Pepin Blue Label Garcia Delicias earns a rating of 3.75 out of four stars.
