The Tatuaje Cojonu 2012 Habano features a chocolate brown wrapper that has a good amount of oil on the surface. I love the color of the wrapper. In fact, I’d call it the best looking cigar out of the Cojonu 2012 trio. A few minor veins are visible and the cigar appears to be smooth overall. It’s also firm and well-packed with tobacco. The 2012 Habano features two bands. The top band is the typical brown and white Tatuaje band that features the company name, while a black and gold band beneath it displays the Cojonu 2012 label. The pre-light aroma of the 2012 Habano is spicy, while the cold taste is both spicy and sweet.
Right after lighting, the Cojonu 2012 Habano burns easily. The easy draw is relaxing, and so is the pleasurable aroma that emanates from the copious smoke. The ash is solid and light gray in color. The burn line remains even for the majority of the smoking experience and only requires a few minor touch-ups.
The flavor loaded within the Tatuaje Cojonu 2012 Habano is superb. The first third begins with an intriguing blend of pepper, coffee, and sweetness. The second third switches things up with a shift to cedar, wood, earth, and caramel. There's still some pepper in the background. The last third finishes off the experience with sweetness, caramel, cedar, and coffee.
After smoking all three versions of the Tatuaje Cojonu 2012, I have to say that the Habano is my favorite. The cigar just offers a ton of flavor that is enjoyable from start to finish. I would definitely recommend it to experienced smokers who are Tatuaje fans or simply looking for a full-bodied and full-flavored cigar. At $13 per single, it’s pricey, but you really do get what you pay for in this case. Pick up a box of 25 if you can. You won’t regret it.
The Tatuaje Cojonu 2012 Habano earns a rating of four out of four stars.
