Immediately, the large and colorful bands of the Reserva Especial Limited Edition 2012 catch my attention. The top band showcases the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial label, while the one beneath it displays the Limited Edition label. Both of the bands sport blue, gold, and white colors that are eye-catching. As for the cigar itself, the medium brown wrapper has a good amount of oil and some moderate veining. The appearance is smooth overall. The cigar feels firm to the touch and lacks any soft spots. The triple cap is done to perfection. I notice a pre-light scent and cold taste that are both sweet.
Once in action, the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Limited Edition 2012 burns without any negative issues. The draw is just right. The burn is slow and produces a thick volume of smoke. The sturdy white ash looks great and keeps from flaking. Only a couple of minor touch-ups are needed.
Moving on to the flavor department, there are plenty of flavors to be enjoyed in this Limited Edition 2012 that keep me entertained from start to finish. Sweetness kicks off the festivities and is soon joined by mild pepper. The second third turns up just a tad in terms of the pepper, and cedar also appears. The final third brings back some milder pepper and finishes things off with sweetness, cedar, and wood.
The Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Limited Edition 2012 is a perfect example of why the Garcia family has a solid reputation. The cigar looks good and its flavor is even better. I would recommend the Limited Edition 2012 to medium-bodied fans seeking something flavorful. It is a limited release, however, that carries a hefty price tag of $16 per single. At that price point, it is best reserved for a special occasion. You can also look for the Limited Edition 2012 in packs of five or boxes of 16 which come with the one Connecticut Broadleaf cigar as well.
The Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Limited Edition 2012 earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.
