The burn of the SCR is satisfactory. Its light-colored ash is on the flaky side. The draw is about as good as one could hope for, and the burn stays even from start to finish. Touch-ups and re-lights are not necessary at all.
The SCR excels in the flavor department thanks to the variety it provides. From beginning to end, there is a plethora of flavor to enjoy. At first, there is a good amount of sweetness, as was previewed in the cold taste. The sweetness then takes a quick turn towards some light notes of pepper. Nutty flavors then take over, and they tend to pop in a lot until the end. Coffee and leather also make an appearance. This is one smooth smoke that is packed from end to end with flavor, and that's a definite plus.
Alec Bradley's Select Cabinet Reserve Corona was hard to put down. The bevy of flavors contained within the cigar kept it from ever becoming a dull smoke. Besides the variety presented, the smoothness was also very enjoyable. Add to that some good looks and a decent burn, and you have yourself a quality cigar. While the SCR's flavors are superb, so is its reasonable price. With a single averaging out to around $5 a pop, the SCR is a cigar that can be enjoyed with some frequency. You can find it in packs of five or boxes of 20. It's a stogie that would go great anytime of the day, but especially with a morning cup of coffee. If you love smoother cigars, the SCR should be right up your alley. It should also suffice for beginning smokers.
The Alec Bradley SCR Corona receives a very solid rating of 3.5 out of four stars.
Davidoff Special R Tubo

Davidoff is no stranger to producing quality cigars. Is the Special R Tubo good enough to live up to the Davidoff name? Let's hope so and light one up to see for ourselves.
The Davidoff Special R measures 4 7/8 x 50. Other offerings within the brand's Special series include the 7 ½ x 50 Double R and the tiny 3 ½ x 43 Special Entreacto. The Special R's filler and binder are made from a blend of Dominican tobaccos that come from up to four different harvests. A Connecticut Shade wrapper completes the cigar. The cigar's strength is said to place it into the medium-bodied category, and it is handmade in the Dominican Republic.
