The Reserva Especial Robusto has a very dark, rich-looking wrapper. It's also quite oily under light. Very few veins are visible, and patting the cigar down reveals that it is well-packed with tobacco. Near the head is a very attractive decorative band. It has a beige, gold, red, and blue color scheme that really stands out against the dark wrapper. The band showcases the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial label. Prior to lighting, there is a cold taste that is slightly sweet. The scent is of earth.

When it comes to the burn, the Reserva Especial Robusto is without flaws. The solid white ash that is formed looks great when in contrast with the dark wrapper, and the draw is good. The cigar stays even on its own, and does not need to be re-lit at any junction while smoking.

There are plenty of flavors packed in this stick. Wood seems to kick things off, and there is some spice that is evident too. Later on, a rich taste of dark chocolate comes in and seems to stay for a while. There is also a bit of sweetness that pops in throughout the smoke, as well as earth. The cigar does seem to fit its advertisement as being full-bodied.

In all aspects, the Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Robusto is a quality stogie. It looks good, smokes good, and tastes good. The flavor complexity is nice, although in the end this may be one selection that is too strong for beginners. Full-bodied fans should find it to be enjoyable, however. Depending on where you shop, you can find a single for around $6 to $7, which is not bad for a quality cigar. It can also be found in boxes of 20.

The Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial Robusto receives a rating of three out of four stars.
