avodom1 We have two very high quality smokes to review today. Up first is the smooth-looking Avo Domaine 10. Finishing off today's reviews is the pricy Double R from Davidoff.

Avo Domaine 10

The Domaine line from AVO is a follow-up to the original offering from the brand. The brand's founder, Avo Uvezian, created the Domaine line with the hopes of adding something more full-bodied in nature. To create the line, Uvezian consulted with respected blender Hendrik Kelner and asked for his help.

The Domaine 10 measures 5 1/8x 50. Avo offers the Domaine line in a variety of other sizes as well: the 4 5/8x 52 “20”, the 6 3/4x 48 “30”, the 6 x 52 “40”, the 5 15/16x 54 “50”, and the 5 x 43 “60”. The cigar's filler is composed of tobacco from the Dominican Republic, and the same holds true for the binder. The wrapper is fermented twice and is of the Connecticut Seed Ecuadorian Sungrown variety. All of the tobacco used to construct the Domaine 10 is grown at the Domaine AVO farm in the Dominican Republic. The Domaine line is said to fall somewhere in between the categories of medium and full-bodied. The cigar is manufactured by only the most skilled rollers at the Tabadom Factory in the Dominican Republic.

At first glance, the Domaine 10 is quite a smooth looking cigar. Its wrapper is creamy brown in color, and has a good amount of oil visible on the surface. There are just a few veins that are present, and hardly any imperfections that are noticeable. Near the head of the cigar is a decorative band that features the AVO logo. Its purple, white, black, and silver color scheme looks good against the creamy wrapper. Patting down the cigar reveals that it is firmly packed with tobacco. Before lighting, it has a peppery scent and cold taste.

Once lit, the Domaine 10 burns perfectly. It stays even on its own and does not need any re-lighting. The draw is excellent, and solid light-colored ash is produced.
