The most noticeable aspect of the Terra Novo's appearance is the two decorative bands that line its body. A small band near the foot displays the Tempus label in classy font. The band near the head is much larger and shows the Alec Bradley name and logo with some intricate graphics in gold and purple. The two bands definitely add some flash to this stick. The cigar itself has a rather dark wrapper that has a bit of an oily sheen. There are some large veins running throughout the body, and it feels firm to the touch. Before lighting, some earth is detected in the scent and cold taste.

Once finally lit, the Tempus Terra Novo is a solid performer. The draw is good and it produces some solid ash that is light in color. There is no need for any re-lighting, and the burn stays even for the most part.
A good variety of flavors are present when smoking the Terra Novo. Earth seems to kick things off, and some leather is also noticeable. A slight hint of fruit pops in that is reminiscent of sweet cherry. Spice and cedar round out the flavor profile.
So, did the Tempus Terra Novo live up to the hype? Not really, but that's not to say it's not a quality cigar. Different strokes for different folks. It is well constructed, and the appearance was nice too. The flavors are well presented, but I just was not overly impressed with the cigar. Perhaps the hype inflated my expectations. Regardless, at around $7 per stick, it is worth the try to see for yourself what the hype is about.
The Alec Bradley Tempus Terra Novo earns a solid rating of three out of four stars.
