After lighting, the Maduro Torpedo burns well. It burns evenly for the most part and has a nice draw. It also produces long ash that contrasts nicely with the cigar's dark appearance. Touching up is not necessary, but there are a couple of re-lights that are.
The flavors packed into the Maduro Torpedo are highly varied and keep you on the edge of your seat. It starts off with some coffee and nutty flavors. A good amount of dark chocolate is also noticeable. Some wood and even a fruity flavor appears. There is also a slightly different flavor that reminds one of licorice. The peppery flavor that was evident in the cold taste is also present. This is definitely a strong stick and fits the full-bodied profile well.

I must say that the El Rico Habano Maduro Torpedo is an enjoyable smoke. The construction is solid and the burn was satisfactory, minus the re-lighting. The flavors are particularly excellent and keep things from getting dull. A cup of coffee might go well to accompany it. You also might want to enjoy a meal before smoking the Maduro Torpedo, as it packs plenty of punch on its own. I definitely would not recommend it to beginners. It is way too strong. Full-bodied fans definitely should give it a try, though. The price is reasonable at around $7 per stick. It also comes in boxes of 25, and if you shop around you can find a box for around $100.
The El Rico Habano Maduro Torpedo's flavors earn it a strong rating of 3.5 out of 4 stars.
