epcarrelenc1 If you like the thrill that comes with tracking down limited edition cigars, we have two recent releases to review that you may want to set your sights on. Today's subjects for review are the E.P. Carrillo Edicion Limitada 2010 Elencos and the Oliva Serie V Maduro Especial 2010.

E.P. Carrillo Edicion Limitada 2010 Elencos

Ernest Perez Carrillo is the man behind the creation of the La Gloria Cubana brand. In early 2009 he stepped away from La Gloria Cubana and began creating new lines under his E.P. Carrillo brand. Many lines have been released under the E.P. Carrillo moniker in a short period of time, although they have mostly been limited editions. The recent release of the Edicion Limitada 2010 Elencos follows that mold and comes as a follow-up to the earlier 2009 edition. The Edicion Limitada 2010 is produced by a boutique brand on a boutique-sized level, with production set at a limit of 2,500 boxes of ten per month. This level of production will supposedly only continue for a few months as well, making the Elencos one cigar that could be very hard to find if you wait too long to pick one up.

The Edicion Limitada 2010 Elencos measures 6 x 54, and it is the only size within the line at this time. Aged tobaccos were used to make the Elencos. Its filler is composed of Nicaraguan tobacco, while its binder is Dominican. Last, but not least, is a Brazilian Habano wrapper. In terms of strength, the Elencos falls into the full-bodied category.

The Elencos is a very attractive cigar. From the bands to the cigar itself, the whole package is presented nicely. A large band near the head displays the E.P. Carrillo name. Its combination of bright red, gold, black, yellow, and white really stand out. Just below it is a smaller band in gold and black. It displays the Edicion Limitada 2010 label and is a nice touch. The cigar's wrapper has a chocolate brown color that is appetizing. The wrapper is oily and has minor veins that are visible. The cigar's construction appears to be superb. It feels firm to the touch with very little give and no soft spots. The pre-light aroma and cold taste are both spicy.
