ratings and scores

The Elencos' burn is almost as smooth as its appearance. The draw is perfect, and solid white ash is produced. The burn stays even for the most part, and only a few minor touch-ups are required here and there. Overall, it's is mostly free of any real issues in the burn department, however. It should also be noted that the cigar burns very slowly.

The variety of flavors given off by the Elencos make it very hard to pass up. There's a ton of complexity to be enjoyed, and it begins with some spicy pepper. This then transitions into notes of sweetness and cinnamon. A nutty flavor similar to almonds appears, as does some cedar. The best flavor of all, however, is a creamy caramel that finishes everything off perfectly.

The Edicion Limitada 2010 is a very impressive cigar. The presentation and the cigar itself were appealing to the eyes, and the burn was very good. The flavors were varied from start to finish and made the Elencos an entertaining cigar to smoke. It seems to fall more in between medium and full-bodied, rather than being an full-fledged powerhouse. If you enjoy cigars with plenty of flavor, this is the one for you. Unfortunately, as stated earlier, the Elencos is extremely limited. A single costs $15, which is steep, and they also come in boxes of ten. Regardless of the high price, you should splurge and pick up a single for a special occasion. Considering the limited release, and the fact that production could be cut soon, you should make an attempt to try an Elencos while it's still possible.

The E.P. Carrillo Edicion Limitada 2010 Elencos receives a high rating of 3.5 out of four stars.

Oliva Serie V Maduro Especial 2010

olivaserv2

Oliva's Serie V Maduro Especial 2010 is a release that picks up where the brand's similar 2008 and 2009 editions left off. You could say that the 2010 is similar to its predecessors, but with some new tweaks thrown in. A different wrapper comes in this year's version, and the cigar is also said to be stronger than those from previous years.

The Serie V Maduro Especial 2010 comes in a 6 x 54 size. This Torpedo is the only size offered in the 2010 version, and it's a bit bigger than the 2009 that measured in at 6 ½ x 52. The cigar's filler and binder are both Nicaraguan, and a Mexican San Andreas Maduro wrapper is the final piece of the puzzle. The use of the San Andreas wrapper is a departure from previous Serie V releases that used Connecticut Broadleaf wrappers. Strength-wise, the 2010 is said to be medium to full-bodied.
