felipeeinsteinpic1 Today comes to you with two new reviews. First is the flamboyant Felipe Gregorio Icon Einstein, which will be followed up by the limited release Padron 1926 80th Anniversary Maduro Perfecto.

Felipe Gregorio Icon Einstein

The Icon line of cigars from Felipe Gregorio is one that is dedicated to several famous figures from the past. From Albert Einstein to Winston Churchill, this line covers important figures from different walks of life. Like the figures it is named after, the Icon possesses a certain flair about it that makes it stand out from the crowd too.

The Felipe Gregorio Icon Einstein measures 6 1/2x 55. It also comes in other “iconic” sizes: the 5 x 55 Groucho, the 6 1/2x 52 Twain, and the 7 x 48 Churchill size appropriately named the Sir Winston. The Einstein's filler is a blend of Nicaraguan Cuban-seed and 2002 Dominican Piloto Cubano tobaccos. The binder is Dominican as well. The cigar is finished off with a Costa Rican wrapper that uses the touted Vuelta Abajo region's tobacco. The cigar is produced with a unique nipple at the foot and a large shaggy cap at the head. The Icon Einstein is categorized as being medium-bodied in strength.

Simply put, the Felipe Gregorio Icon Einstein is a lot to look at. From the cigar itself to its bands, it is an assault on the eyes. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though, depending on your personal tastes. Of note is the large and shaggy “Rastafarian” style cap at its head that looks like somebody's hair that is tied off in a bunch. Equally different is the foot of the cigar, which has a large nipple. Needless to say, before you get to smoking this stick you will have a little bit of grooming to do. The fun does not stop there, though, as the Einstein also has two decorative bands. The band near the foot is gold and black and displays the Icon name. The band near the head is quite large and animated. Its mostly blue and gold in color and it has drawings of the various icons in the cigar line, such as Albert Einstein, Groucho Marx, Mark Twain, Charlie Chaplin, and Winston Churchill. The cigar's wrapper is mostly light brown with a few veins running throughout. A bit of an oily sheen is visible under light and the cigar feels firm to the touch. Before lighting the stick gives off a sweet tobacco scent and somewhat of a fruity taste.
