The flavors experienced while smoking the Regalias are decent, although not too varied or complex as one might hope for. The smoke kicks off with some spice, and there are also some hints of wood. Leather notes jump in and a grassy, vegetal flavor is also noticeable. A bit of sweetness adds to the profile, and the tobacco flavor noticed in the cold taste also shows up periodically. The Regalias is definitely a milder stick that would have trouble overwhelming even a beginner.

There is nothing particularly impressive about the H. Upmann Regalias. Appearance-wise, it is not too inviting. The tight draw while smoking might be irritating to some. The flavors, while OK, were nothing to write home about. One thing that should be mentioned, however, is that many claim that this cigar should be aged to get the most out of its flavor. Perhaps some more time in the humidor would make it more appealing. Regardless, if you are looking for a quick Cuban smoke, the Regalias would not be a terrible choice. It also is not a bad pick if you are a beginner that wants something easy on the senses, or you want to jump into the H. Upmann brand. A single sells for around $4 to $5, depending on where you shop. It also comes in boxes of 25.

The H. Upmann Regalias earns an average rating of 2 out of 4 stars.

Rocky Patel Nording Toro Grande

It must be a great honor to have a cigar made in your honor, especially if it is made by a quality brand like Rocky Patel. The Nording line from Patel was made to honor Erik Nording, a famous pipe maker of Danish descent. Patel has created many hits in the past, but does the Nording carry on the brand's reputation for quality smokes? I sure hope so.

The Nording Toro Grande measures 6 x 58. The line also offers three other sizes: the 5 x 54 Torpedo, the 5 1/2x 52 Robusto, and the 6 1/2x 52 Toro. The cigar's filler is a blend of tobaccos from Nicaragua and Honduras. The binder is Mexican, and the cigar is completed by a Costa Rican Maduro wrapper. The Nording line is handmade in Honduras, and is considered to be medium-bodied.

I like RP cigars in general but this one blows my doors off. This cigar impressed me the very first time I smoked it about 5 months ago and again the other night. After about 6-8 months this is an incredible cigar and one to buy a box of.
