Once lit, the Africa Duma seems to disappoint in regards to its burn. The burn is uneven and many touch-ups are required. The cigar also has a tendency to go out if you don't puff on it frequently enough. The draw is good but the ash is on the flaky side. Luckily, the flavors come to the rescue to give the Duma some redeeming qualities. The four nation combination of tobaccos used in the filler lend the way to a roller coaster of different flavors that keep things interesting. A smooth and creamy flavor kicks things off and is joined by coffee and cocoa. Some wood and peppery spice is also introduced. A tinge of fruit enters the picture to lighten things up a bit and there are also notes of leather and chocolate that come through at times.
The Don Lino Africa Duma's burn issues overshadowed its great flavor, unfortunately. Perhaps it was just an unlucky coincidence that this particular stick was a lemon. Although the flavors were excellent and varied, the cigar needed too much attention with regards to touch-ups and re-lighting that it seemed to be a chore to smoke. Priced at around $7 per single, it seems a tad overpriced due to the burn problems. The Duma is also available in packs of five or boxes of 25. With all of that being said, you may want to give it a shot, especially if you enjoy full-bodied smokes. Hopefully you will have better luck in the burn department, because if you do you can really enjoy an interesting flavor profile. Its just disappointing that the Duma did not smoke as good as it initially looked. The Don Lino Africa Duma's contrasting characteristics earn it an average at best rating of two out of four stars.
That concludes my reviews for today. I hope you enjoyed them and come back for more!
