kristoff maduro torpedola aroma de cuba edicion especial no. 2
maduroratings and scores

The flavors encountered while smoking the Kristoff Maduro Torpedo are quite good and keep you on your toes until the end. The cigar starts off with some pleasant creamy flavors that are joined by chocolate and coffee. Eventually some earthy notes come into play, as well as those of wood. Adding to the overall profile is a fruity flavor that resembles cherries. Overall, the cigar seemed to be more on the medium-bodied end of things and was not too strong.

Though the Kristoff Maduro Torpedo isn't that impressive to look at, it is definitely an enjoyable smoke. Don't let its bland appearance fool you, this stick is packed with plenty of flavor. The burn is just as good too. Those who enjoy full-bodied cigars may find this one to be too mild, but beginners and those that prefer smoother smokes will probably enjoy it. As far as the price is concerned, the Maduro Torpedo is not cheap. It comes in boxes of 20, and a single can average out to be around $8 each. For many, that is too much to pay for a daily smoke, but it is worth it to at least try one out.

The solid burn and variety of flavors earn the Kristoff Maduro Torpedo a rating of three out of four stars.

La Aroma de Cuba Edicion Especial No. 2

The Edicion Especial line from Aroma de Cuba was introduced in 2008. Made by in Nicaragua by industry icon Don Pepin Garcia, the Edicion Especial was specifically made for Ashton Distributors. Without a doubt, Don Pepin's contribution to the creative process of the Edicion Especial had a positive effect, as the cigar has earned plenty of high ratings from critics.

The Edicion Especial No. 2 measures 4 7/8 x 48. The Edicion Especial is also offered in seven other sizes: the 5 5/8 x 46 No. 1, the 6x50 No. 3, the 7 x 49 No. 4, the 5 ½ x 52 No. 5, the 5 ¾ x 55 No. 55, the 4 ½ x 42 Minuto, and the 7 ½ x 38 Lancero. The No. 2 is composed of a filler blend of Nicaraguan Cuban-seed tobaccos. Its binder is also Nicaraguan and it is topped off with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. The Edicion Especial No. 2 is classified as being medium to full-bodied.

Appearance-wise, the Edicion Especial No. 2 is a good looking cigar, mostly due to the band near its head. The band is quite large and is very detailed. You can tell a lot of effort was put into its design, as it has plenty of artwork on it that includes two women in the middle along with some nice views of an old time city. The colorful gold band has the La Aroma de Cuba name on it as well as the Edicion Especial label, all in elegant font. The cigar's wrapper has a nice tan tint to it, and it has a few veins throughout its body with some oily sheen that is visible under light. A quick whiff and taste of the cigar before lighting exhibit some earthy tones.
