The Dominican Legends Torpedo is an attractive cigar. The wrapper is a nice brown color that shines under the light from its oiliness. Looking at the body, there are a few large veins, but the cigar is mostly smooth. A big red and gold band is near the head that features the Dominican Legends name and shows a large white monument in the center which is actually a depiction of the Monument to the Heroes of the Restoration in Santiago, Dominican Republic. Prior to lighting, the cigar has a nutty cold taste and an earthy scent.

Once lit, there is not much to complain about. The burn is even and the cigar has a nice draw. Solid white ash is present and there is no need for touch-ups or re-lighting.
The flavors of the Dominican Legends Torpedo are very smooth. Plenty of coffee notes kick it off along with some nuts. A rich chocolate flavor also joins the party. Beyond that, there is a lot of sweetness and creaminess that seems to stay throughout the smoke. This is one stick that is definitely mild and medium-bodied.
I must say, Mr. Starks' first jump into the cigar industry seems like a success. The Legends Torpedo has a good burn and the flavors are very tasty. I wouldn't recommend this to any full-bodied fans, but I would to beginners and those who love milder smokes. Price-wise, the Dominican Legends Torpedo is around $5 for a single. This cigar may be hard to find, but that should change, as Starks is trying to spread the word by holding events to introduce the cigar on a wider scale.
The John Starks' Dominican Legend Torpedo earns a rating of three out of four stars.
That's enough smoke for me. Keep checking back for more reviews. Until next time.....
