The Corojo Robusto is an attractive cigar with a nice medium-brown wrapper that has a slight hint of red. Some oil is visible and so are a few prominent veins. Giving the cigar a pat down reveals that it is packed firmly without any soft spots. Overall, the construction seems solid. There are two decorative bands that spruce up its appearance. The large band near the head displays a lion, which is a mainstay amongst La Aurora labels. Just below the top band is a thinner one that is stamped with the Corojo label. Both bands are decorated in bright red, gold, and white. Just before lighting, there's a cold taste of cedar, and the aroma given off is of cedar.

After being lit, the cigar's burn characteristics are decent. It produces some long gray ash that refrains from flaking. The draw seems to be tight at first, but it loosens up and becomes excellent after some time elapses. The burn tends to stray a bit, so there are some touch-ups needed occasionally.
In terms of flavor, you get a nice variety here. At first, there are some strong spicy notes that seem to be the most dominant flavor of the cigar. The spice gives way to some cedar and cinnamon. A really rich nutty flavor makes an appearance as well. The final flavor that is detected is sweet, and it does a good job in taking the edge off the cigar's strength for a little while.
The La Aurora Corojo Robusto is a quality cigar that seems to be more full-bodied than medium-bodied. It has plenty of strength and should appeal to smokers who enjoy full-bodied cigars that pack a nice punch. Beginning smokers will probably want to pass here, as it may be too strong for them. The Corojo Robusto's mix of solid construction, a mostly satisfactory burn, and a nice combination of flavors make it worthy of at least picking up a single. Depending on the size you choose in the line, a single runs from $5.60 to $6.80. That's a decent price considering the quality you are getting. You can also find the Corojo Robusto in boxes of 25.
The La Aurora Corojo Robusto receives a rating of three out of four stars.
