Hello and welcome back. Today we will review the Serie N JSB, a new release from La Gloria Cubana. Not to be outdone, is the Liga Privada No. 9 Robusto Oscuro from Drew Estate, which will wrap up our reviews for the day.
La Gloria Cubana Serie N JSB
The Serie N line from La Gloria Cubana is the brand's newest creation. The N in the moniker stands for Nicaragua. The line was introduced earlier this fall during the IPCPR event in New Orleans, and is regarded as the sister line to the Serie R, which received plenty of positive reviews. The Serie N is the result of a collaborative effort between Benji Menendez, Michael Giannini, and Rick Rodriguez, known as Team La Gloria Cubana, and General Cigar's Yuri Guillen. In creating the Serie N, La Gloria Cubana's aim was to provide experienced smokers a cigar loaded with flavor and power. The line was just made available this October.
The Serie N JSB measures 5 ½ x 54. There are three more sizes in the line as well: the 5 ¾ x 49 “49”, the 6 ½ x 46 “46”, and the 6 ½ x 58 “58.” The cigar's filler and binder is made up of proprietary Nicaraguan tobacco. A signature Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper coats the exterior. As stated, the cigar was created for more experienced smokers, the Serie N is described as being full-bodied. Each Serie N is handmade in the Dominican Republic at the El Credito factory.
The Serie N is described as a powerhouse, and it definitely backs that up in terms of its looks. The Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper is extremely dark, and it almost reaches the point of being black. The dark color makes it easy to see the very oily sheen as well. There are a few small veins that are visible. The JSB feels firm, yet has a lot of bumps and is lumpy. A large band sits near the head that displays the La Gloria Cubana logo and the Serie N label. The band's colors of gold, red, yellow, and black really stand out against the dark wrapper. Before lighting, the cigar has a sweet cold taste, while its scent is somewhat fruity.
