Hello and welcome to yet another pair of cigar reviews. On today's menu is the silky smooth and mild LegendArio Connecticut Bertha as well as the limited and flavorful J. Fuego Origen Toro.
LegendArio Connecticut Bertha
The LegendArio line of cigars is produced by Camacho. The LegendArio Connecticut is somewhat of a departure of traditional cigars produced by the company in terms of its composition. Camacho had used mostly Honduran tobacco in the past. As you will see with the LegendArio Connecticut, however, the company has gone in a slightly different direction not only in the type of tobaccos used, but also in terms of strength, as many Camacho releases previously were aimed at the full-bodied contingent of smokers.
The LegendArio Connecticut Bertha measures 6 x 60. The line comes in two other sizes as well: the 6 x 50 Toro and the 6 1/4x 54 Figurado. The cigar's filler is a combination of tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Honduras. Its binder is also from Honduras, and it is finished off with an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, which gives the cigar its name. The LegendArio Connecticut is considered to be a smooth smoke, and is classified as medium-bodied.
The Connecticut wrapper on the Bertha gives the cigar a very inviting look. It is golden brown in color and exudes the feeling that you are going to be smoking a very smooth and creamy cigar. There is a slight oily sheen to the wrapper, and some small veins are noticeable. There are two decorative bands that add to its overall appearance. Both bands are decked out in gold and brown and feature the LegendArio brand name and logo. You also get a bit of a sales pitch touting the cigar on the larger band near the head that says “Guarantee of Authenticity.” The smaller band near the foot has “Prima Calidad” labeled on it, stating that you are about to smoke a cigar that is high in quality. Both bands flow well with the silky wrapper and really make you want to light this stick up in a hurry. Before lighting, the cigar has an earthy scent and a cold taste that resembles wood.
