Once lit, the Opus X Petit Lancero lives up to that special pre-light vibe. The burn is relatively flawless. The draw is excellent, and long white ash is produced. The lighter gets a well-needed rest, as the burn remains even throughout and no re-lighting is necessary.

Continuing with the excellence theme of the Opus X are its rich flavors. Smooth overall, the cigar begins with some notes of cedar and wood. A bit of coffee is noticeable too. Some chocolate flavor appears, in addition to some hints of leather. Some creaminess jumps in to balance everything out and make the cigar even more enjoyable. This is a cigar that would go well with a nice Scotch.

As expected, the Opus X Petit Lancero lives up to its billing. The construction and burn are superb, and the flavors are about as enjoyable as one could expect. Full-bodied fans will love this stick. Now, onto the major issue: the price. The Opus X is a rare cigar produced in limited editions. Couple that with its rave reviews and aura of exclusivity, and you have yourself one expensive cigar. A single of the Petit Lancero goes for about $30, give or take. Some retailers will even sell it in boxes of 32, while others might place limits on how many you can purchase to keep the product available to other buyers who want to sample it. With such a high price, the Opus X will likely be out of many cigar fans' price range. With that being said, it should go on your “Bucket List” when it comes to cigars. Pick one up for a very special occasion and enjoy it to the fullest. For your wallet's sake, hopefully you do not get addicted to it, because you will likely want to try it again.
