Like most Davidoff selections, the Millennium Lancero is a highly attractive stick that appears to have impeccable construction. The wrapper has rich chocolate color with a slight oily sheen that is noticeable under light. Hardly any veins are present and the cigar feels well-packed and as smooth as can be. It also has a pigtail cap. There are two decorative bands that add a classy touch to the overall appearance of the Lancero. The top band is large and oval in shape. It displays the Davidoff name in gold lettering. The second, smaller band sits right beneath and shows the Millennium label. Before lighting, the cigar has an earthy flavor and its scent is spicy.
Just like its appearance, the burn of the Millennium Lancero is impeccable. The draw is just right, and solid white ash is produced. The burn stays even without the need for any touch-ups. The cigar also stays lit on its own until the very end. Not having to maintain the burn allows you to fully enjoy and savor the cigar.
Speaking of savoring, this is one stick where a lot of that goes on, as the flavors are very satisfying. Spicy notes kick things off. A very tasty nutty flavor eventually comes in, as does cedar. Earthy notes also become noticeable, and a very smooth, creamy flavor helps add to the overall variety.
As expected, the Davidoff Millennium Lancero was a hit. The cigar is excellent in all aspects. Its appearance is enough to make your mouth water, and the burn was as good as one could hope for. The flavors are the icing on the cake. The only negative aspect of the Millennium Lancero is its price. A single hovers around the $19 mark, which is likely above a lot of smokers' price limits. Such a high price makes it not ideal for daily smoking. Still, if you really want a quality cigar, the Millennium Lancero delivers. It is at least worth a purchase for a very special occasion, and it can also be found in packs of five or boxes of ten.
The Davidoff Millennium Lancero earns a superb rating of 3.5 out of 4 stars.
