oliva connecticut reserve tororatings and scores

olivaconnres1 Welcome to another edition of Puff reviews. Today's reviews focus on two cigars at different ends of the strength spectrum. Up first is the milder Oliva Connecticut Reserve Toro, which will be followed by the stronger, full-bodied Illusione HL.

Oliva Connecticut Reserve Toro

Oliva's Connecticut Reserve line marks the first time the brand has used a Connecticut wrapper. The Connecticut Reserve is also a departure from Oliva's typical releases that tend to be full-bodied. As a change up, the brand decided to make the Connecticut Reserve its first mild selection in an attempt to win over fans of more mellow cigars.

The Connecticut Reserve Toro measures 6 x 50. Oliva also offers the line in five other sizes: the 5 x 50 Robusto, the 6 x 60 Double Toro, the 6 ½ x 42 Lonsdale, the 6 ½ x 52 Torpedo, and the 7 x 50 Churchill. The cigar's filler is made from Cuban Seed Nicaraguan tobacco. The binder is Nicaraguan as well. The wrapper is Ecuadorian Connecticut. All of the Connecticut Reserve line is handmade in Nicaragua. In terms of strength, the Connecticut Reserve line is said to be somewhere between mild and medium-bodied.

The Connecticut Reserve Toro has a rather appetizing appearance thanks to its Connecticut wrapper. The wrapper has a golden brown color that looks great under light. There are a few veins that are visible, and the cigar seems to be constructed very well. There is not much oil on the surface, and it looks to be topped off with a double cap. The cigar feels very firm to the touch and there are no soft spots that stand out. A classy band sits near the head. It sports the Oliva name and has a white and gold color scheme that blends in perfectly with the color of the wrapper. Prior to lighting, there is a nice aroma of wood. The cold taste is of wood as well.
