Rocky Patel Olde World Reserve Robusto Maduro

Rocky Patel's Olde World Reserve line is another highly-rated offering from the brand. That has to come as good news to Rocky, especially considering that the line is also was also the brand's most expensive to create. The line was created with the hopes of offering smokers plenty of flavor. According to Rocky Patel's website, it also brings together the strength of the popular Edge series with the complexity of the also popular Vintage series.

The Olde World Reserve measures 5 ½ x 54 in its Robusto format. Rocky Patel also offers the line in two other sizes: the 5 x 54 Torpedo and the 6 ½ x 52 Toro. The cigar has a filler and binder that are both Nicaraguan. It also comes in your choice of either a Maduro or Corojo wrapper, and we will review the former today. The Maduro wrapper is said to bring some cocoa flavor, while the Corojo is said to have a nutty taste. The Olde World Reserve is considered to be full-bodied in nature.

Right off the bat, the Robusto Maduro is appetizing. It actually has an appearance that is reminiscent of a chocolate truffle thanks to its color. There are a few veins that are visible, and it is oily on the surface. Touching the cigar reveals that it is packed well. There is a decorative band near the head that blends in with the wrapper. The band has an attractive gold and brown color scheme and showcases the Rocky Patel logo and the Olde World Reserve name. There is also a sleeve at the foot that cover about one-third of the cigar. It has a rough appearance and is stamped with the brand logo. Prior to lighting, the cigar has a scent and cold taste that are similar to sweet chocolate.
