In terms of its looks, the Signature Series Perfecto is easy on the eyes. The first thing I notice is its inviting chocolate brown wrapper. A gold and white band sits near the head that displays Seijas’ name and signature in the middle. The wrapper features some oil and a few minimal veins. The cigar feels smooth to the touch and appears to be fully packed with tobacco. No real imperfections are noticeable. Before lighting there’s a sweet scent. The flavor, on the other hand, is earthy.
The Jose Seijas Signature Series lights with ease and burns like a good cigar from a quality company should. The draw is a tad tight from the start but eventually loosens up. The solid white ash looks great against the chocolate brown wrapper. The burn never strays and stays even from beginning to end. No touch-ups or re-lights are needed at all. This is a definite plus, since it allows me to concentrate on the flavor, which is to be discussed next.
In terms of flavor, the Seijas Signature Series is a hit. It’s full of complexity and never gets harsh. The first third begins with sweetness and also offers cocoa and cedar. The second third picks up in strength a bit thanks to a shot of pepper. More notes of cocoa are present here, as well as some earth. The final third offers more cocoa, plus earth and leather. There’s never a dull moment while smoking the Signature Series Perfecto. Medium to full-bodied seems like an accurate description.
I applaud Jose Seijas for producing a great cigar in the Signature Series. It serves up superb construction and burn, plus excellent flavor. Priced at around $9 per single, this stogie is not cheap. Still, pick one up if you are looking for something flavorful that exudes quality. You can also find the Perfecto and other sizes in the line in packs of five or boxes of 25.
The Jose Seijas Signature Series Perfecto earns a rating of 3.75 out of four stars.
