The most noticeable aspect of the Nestor Miranda 70th LE’s appearance is its long Lancero shape.  It is quite elegant, to say the least.  There are two bands.  The top band features the Nestor Miranda Collection name as well as the number 70 in large font.  The band at the foot says Nicaragua to let you know which edition you are smoking out of the car “box.”  The cigar itself has an oily dark-brown wrapper.  Some medium-sized veins are visible and it feels firm to the touch.  The wrapper is smooth.  There’s also a pigtail cap at the top of the cigar.  Before lighting, there’s a spicy and a cold taste of earth.

The 70th LE Lancero lights with little effort and exhibits a great draw.  There’s plenty of cool, thick smoke that fills the air.  The burn stays even for the most part and only requires one touch-up.  The dark gray ash stays firm well past an inch.

The flavor profile of the Nestor Miranda 70th LE Nicaragua begins with a first third characterized by cedar, earth, and pepper.  Chocolate comes into the mix in the second third, as do coffee and wood.  The final third is a mixture of chocolate, leather, earth, and sweetness.

I must say that I really enjoyed the Nicaraguan edition of the Nestor Miranda 70th LE.  I liked the whole concept with the classic car container as a keepsake, and the cigar itself was quite good too.  There’s plenty of complexity to be enjoyed with medium to full-bodied strength.  I’d pick one up if you like Nicaraguan tobacco or if you just want a really cool keepsake to add to your collection.  The boxes of 12 run for about $170.  Not cheap by any means, but it is very limited and comes with a unique concept.

The Nestor Miranda 70th LE Nicaragua earns a rating of 3.75 out of four stars.
