Another area where I tend to enjoy Rocky Patel cigars is flavor. In that respect, the Xtreme Sumatra Robusto is right on track. The cigar starts off mildly with sweetness and citrus. Coffee soon comes into the picture to make the first third an interesting mix. The second third transforms into a blend of creaminess, nuts, and vanilla. This is the highlight so far and is very enjoyable. The final third offers more nuts and coffee. I’d definitely call the Xtreme Sumatra medium-bodied all the way.

The Xtreme Sumatra Robusto is a perfect example of why I am a Rocky Patel fan. The cigar had excellent construction and a solid burn. Add in a delicious flavor profile, and you have yourself a winner. The cigar comes in packs of five or boxes of 20. A single sells for $6.50. That’s a solid value for a quality cigar. I’d recommend it to Rocky Patel fans or anyone looking for a stogie that is smooth and

flavorful.

The Rocky Patel Xtreme Sumatra Robusto earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.

Augusto Reyes Signature Series Robusto

augreyesig

The Augusto Reyes brand brings 150 years of family tradition to the table. It has its roots in the Dominican Republic, so it’s only fitting that its Signature Series would be a Dominican puro. This is my first venture into Augusto Reyes territory, so I don’t know what to expect. The brand does have a fairly good reputation, however, so it should be a fun ride. The Signature Series’ description on the company’s website is solid as well. It’s said to be smooth, rich, creamy, and loaded with flavor. Sounds good to me.

The Signature Series Robusto measures 5 x 50. Other sizes in the line include the 6 x 52 Toro, 6 x 54 Belicoso, 6 x 60 Gordo, and the 7 x 48 Churchill. As mentioned, the cigar is a Dominican puro, which means it consists of only Dominican tobacco. In terms of strength, the Signature Series is listed as being full-bodied.
