It’s Monday and we hope to kick your week off on a right note with a couple of Romeo y Julieta reviews. Let’s take a closer look at what the Romeo y Julieta Vintage and the Romeo y Julieta 1875 Reserve Maduro have to offer.
Romeo y Julieta Vintage #3
Romeo y Julieta is a name that is respected across the industry, as it has been attached to several solid cigars over the years. Produced by Altadis USA, the Romeo y Julieta Vintage line is one that the company describes on its website as being “truly a cigar for special occasions.” Is this really the case? Let’s light one up to find out.
The Romeo y Julieta Vintage #3 measures 4 1/2 x 50. It is one of several offerings in the line. Some of the others include the 6 x 43 Vintage #1, 6 x 46 Vintage #2, 7 x 48 Vintage #4, 7 1/2 x 50 Vintage #5, and the 6 1/2 x 60 Vintage #6. The Vintage begins with a filler of Dominican tobacco. The binder is Mexican, and an Ecuadorian Connecticut Shade wrapper completes the composition. The Vintage is a smooth cigar, and is officially listed as being mild to medium-bodied in strength.
The Romeo y Julieta Vintage #3 has a very mild appearance thanks to its golden brown wrapper. The band is a nice touch with its red, white, and gold coloring that displays the Romeo y Julieta Vintage name. There are a few small veins that are visible, but no major imperfections. The cigar appears to be well-packed with tobacco as well, but it does have some give. The pre-light aroma of cedar is inviting, as is the sweet cold taste.
It doesn’t take much to light the Romeo y Julieta Vintage #3, and once it gets going, it’s all smooth sailing. The burn line stays even from beginning to end. No touch-ups or re-lights are needed whatsoever. There’s plenty of smoke and a pleasant aroma fills my smoking area. The ash is solid and gray in color. We are good to go here.
