Complexity is lacking in the Romeo y Julieta Vintage, but it is one smooth and mild smoke, just as advertised. It stays sweet and creamy in the first third and transitions to offering more cream, cedar, and chocolate in the second third. The final third is more creaminess and chocolate.

The Romeo y Julieta Vintage #3 did not blow me away, but I did enjoy it. I got exactly what I envisioned, which was a mild, pleasant smoke. With a price of around $5 to $6 per single, the Vintage is a solid value for a quality smoke. It’s a good choice for beginners as well as experienced smokers looking for something in the early morning with their favorite cup of coffee.

The Romeo y Julieta Vintage #3 earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.

Romeo y Julieta 1875 Reserve Maduro Belicoso

We started you off on a mild note with the Romeo y Julieta Vintage. Now it is time to kick things up a notch with the more full-bodied Romeo y Julieta 1875 Reserve Maduro. The cigar is described as being aromatic and flavorful, so I am expecting a pretty enjoyable smoking experience, especially since I tend to enjoy cigars that come with Maduro wrappers.

The Romeo y Julieta 1875 Reserve Maduro Belicoso measures 6 1/8 x 52. It should be noted that it is the only selection in the line that comes in a box-pressed shape. The line also comes in four other sizes: the 5 x 44 No. 4, 5 x 50 Robusto, 6 x 50 Toro, and the 7 x 50 Churchill. The cigar features a filler blend of Dominican, Nicaraguan, and Peruvian tobaccos. The binder is Nicaraguan, and a blackened Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper tops things off. While stronger than the Vintage line, the 1875 Reserve Maduro is listed as being just medium-bodied in strength.
