In terms of flavor, the Room101 San Andres is complex and very enjoyable. It kicks off a burst of mild spice that is accompanied by sweetness and wood for the first third. This then transitions into more spice plus leather in the second third, along with some subtle floral notes. The spice subsides in the final third, and is replaced by notes that are creamy and chocolaty.
Would I call the Room101 San Andres 305 a cigar worthy of purchasing? You bet I would. It is a quality stick that offers superb construction, a good burn, and nice flavor transitions. The San Andres 305 comes with a price tag of around $6 each. It also comes in packs of five and boxes of 25. I wouldn't call it an everyday cigar at that price, but anyone seeking something medium-bodied and flavorful to enjoy on the weekends should definitely give the Room101 San Andres some consideration.
The Room101 San Andres 305 earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.
La Palina El Diario KB

Large cigars with massive ring gauges may be popular at the moment, but there are times when smoking such a big stogie may not be convenient, or maybe you do not enjoy the jaw-breaking experience such cigars provide. That is where cigars like the El Diario KB (Kill Bill) from La Palina come in handy. This new release from La Palina hit store shelves in April and was created for those seeking a quality cigar that can be enjoyed in a short period of time. According to La Palina’s Bill Paley, the KB is the perfect cigar for the daily drive home from work. Such a notion seems fitting, especially when you consider that the El Diario moniker translates to daily in English. Instead of lighting up the El Diario KB in my car, however, I will give it a whirl from the comfort of my back porch. As for the Kill Bill name applied to the new release, Paley reportedly came up with it after he smoked the first KB and it nearly “killed him” with its strength.
The La Palina El Diario KB is a Petit Corona that measures 4 ¼ x 40. Other sizes in the line include the 5 x 52 Robusto, 6 x 50 Toro, 6 x 58 Gordo, 6 1/8 x 52 Torpedo, and the 7 x 50 Churchill. The cigar has a filler blend of Nicaraguan Corojo ’99 and Criollo ’98 tobaccos. It employs a double binder of Honduran Criollo ’98 tobacco tops things off with a Honduran Corojo ’99 Rosado wrapper. Strength-wise, the KB is characterized as being full-bodied.
