The most obvious thing that stands out when looking at the Tatuaje M80 is its fuse. It actually looks more cute than menacing for some reason. Another noticeable attribute is the cigar’s small size. The dark brown wrapper is oily and exudes a rich aura. A few prominent veins run throughout the body. I see no major imperfections and feel zero soft spots as I give the cigar a good ole pat down. The band near the head displays the M80 name proudly in black and white with a gold trim. Some other colors wrap around the back for an extra aesthetic touch. As I take a whiff of the M80 I am greeted by a rich scent of chocolate. The cold taste is leathery.
After lighting the M80 I experience a good draw. The ash is solid and light gray in color. The burn is slow, which is good considering the cigar’s rather miniature size. A few touch-ups and re-lights are needed along the way to get the cigar to perform as it should.
As far as its flavor is concerned, I would call the Tatuaje M80 consistent, but not complex. It’s strong and does offer plenty of spice. The spice begins from the start and is met with leather in the first third. The second third remains spicy but mixes in chocolate and sweetness. The final third is more spice and chocolate. This cigar is full-bodied to the T, but not harsh.
Overall, the Tatuaje M80 was a good cigar. I don’t recommend trying it on an empty stomach, and beginners should not bother, as it does pack a spicy punch. The M80 comes in boxes of 15 and is priced at around $6.50 per single. Production was limited to just 333 boxes, so getting your hands on one may be a difficult task.
The Tatuaje M80 earns a rating of 3.5 out of four stars.
