The first impression of this stick is very good. With the very blonde Ecuadorian shade grown, Connecticut seed wrapper it is one of the finest and most delicate looking cigars I have seen. With no veins to speak of or ‘frogs eyes’, without any blemishes whatsoever, this is truly a beautiful cigar. I would certainly call this ‘flawless construction’. A smooth transition from body to cap and firm feel through its length gives overall impression of a top dollar, high-end smoke similar to a Davidoff. The pre-light aroma was excellent with no hint of any unpleasantness that is sometimes found in poorly cured tobaccos.
Punched clean with no cracking or splitting of the cap and no sign of unraveling.
Another high score has to be given for the lighting and burning qualities of this cigar. From start to finish it was picture perfect. No touch-ups, no relighting or uneven burn at any point. This may seem like a small thing to some but I find that this contributes immensely to the overall enjoyment of the smoking of a fine cigar. The ash was firm and long with a very pale gray color, another sign of a quality long filler tobacco.
The draw on this was easy and produced large amounts of thick, white smoke. The flavor was mild and creamy and left a buttery floral aftertaste that remained pleasant to the end. The smooth smoke was so light and mild that I could allow it to escape through my nose and French inhale it from mouth into nose. I would say it was a rich and smooth smoke and an all around enjoyable experience.
I would recommend this cigar to both novice and aficionado alike as a good example of quality vintage tobaccos.
I look forward to see what this company produces in the years to come.
