Moving on, the Tatuaje TAA 2012 offers a decent amount of complexity. The first third kicks off with sweetness and a bite of pepper. I also notice some coffee here. The second third continues with the sweetness and pepper, and I also pick up earth and wood. The final third is the highlight with its blend of sweetness, chocolate, and coffee. This cigar does have some kick to it and is full-bodied as advertised.
The Tatuaje TAA 2012 is another solid cigar from Pete Johnson. It offered solid construction and burn, plus plenty of complexity. I’d recommend the TAA 2012 to experienced smokers seeking something strong but not too strong and flavorful. It is a limited cigar, so don’t hesitate to go pick one up at around $11 per single. You can also find the TAA 2012 in packs of five or boxes of 20.
The Tatuaje TAA 2012 earns a rating of 3.75 out of four stars.
Trinidad Reserve Belicoso

The Trinidad Reserve line comes to us via the folks at Altadis USA. Produced at the Honduras La Flor de Copan factory, the Trinidad Reserve is said to be bolder than its Dominican predecessor. Seeing how it is described as being peppery and full-bodied, I decided to take on the Belicoso after filling my stomach up with a nice meal.
The Trinidad Reserve Belicoso measures 6 1/8 x 52. It’s just one of many sizes in the line, ranging from the 4 1/2 x 38 Pequenos all the way up to the 7 x 54 Churchill. The Trinidad Reserve has a filler of Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos. The binder is also Nicaraguan, and an Ecuadorian Cubano wrapper tops things off. As I said earlier, this is said to be a full-bodied cigar.
