The Isla de Cuba brand of cigars is relatively new to the smoking world after its company’s formal inception approximately three years ago. While modern in terms of its years, creator Darryl Lieser founded the line headquartered in Tampa, Florida, with the hopes of bringing back some nostalgia to smokers in the United States, as he decided to base the new line of cigars off of the rather famous 1956 Montecristo No. 3.
Just for reference, the Montecristo brand became an overwhelming hit after its conception all the way back in 1935.
One could say that the Isla de Cuba logo is a dedication to the old days and perfectly exemplifies its founder’s intentions, as it displays a classic woman holding a box of cigars in a lush, tropical landscape next to a map of Cuba.

Luckily for most of us, Lieser finally decided to release his brand to the public audience, as before, the cigars were only available for private enjoyment between Lieser and his closest confidants. In this review, we will discuss four offerings from the Isla de Cuba line: the Classic, Maduro, Blend 376, and Wango Tango. Each cigar brings its own special qualities to the table, and ensures that your senses will be stimulated differently each time you cut one and light the flame.
For rating purposes, we will use a rating system of one to four stars, with four stars being superb and one star being akin to a cheap cigarette.
