Moving into the flavor department, this is one stick that offers up plenty of complexity. Then again, with such a massive size, I’d hope they pack some type of flavor in there.   Spicy pepper kicks things off.  A very tasty coffee flavor eventually comes in, as does earth and chocolate.  The pepper continues to stay in full-bodied mode in the second third.  Sweetness shows up as a nice contrast, as do nuts and caramel.  The final third offers even more caramel and nuts along with chocolate and coffee.  I would call the strength full-bodied, just as advertised.

Now that the Torano Master Colossal is finished, I must say that my mouth got a workout.  This is not the ideal cigar if you do not like cigars with huge ring gauges.  If you do, however, and want something full-bodied with a ton of flavor, you cannot go wrong with the Master Colossal.  A single sells for about $8, and it also comes in boxes of 20.  Remember, if you aren’t a fan of the Colossal’s size, you can always opt for another format from this highly-rated line.

The Torano Master Colossal earns a rating of 3.75 out of four stars.

Island Cigar Factory Connecticut Perfecto

Wrapping up today’s edition of cigar reviews is the Island Cigar Factory Connecticut Perfecto.  In case you are unfamiliar with the Island Cigar Factory, they’re a chain of cigar shops in Key West that produce bundles and boxes of their own Cuban leaf cigars.  They make custom Dominican cedar cigar boxes that you can design and order right off their website,  The Connecticut is just one of three cigars that they sent to me in a sampler.  The other two were the Maduro and the Double Wrap.  This Connecticut seems mild, so I decided to light it up early one morning alongside a nice cup of coffee.  Let’s see how it does.

The Island Cigar Factory Connecticut Perfecto measures 5 x 48.  Island Cigar Factory also produces cigars in a ton of other formats, such as the Solomon, Al Capone, Pyramid, Presidente, Gigante, and the list goes on.  The Connecticut Perfecto is made up of tobaccos that have been aged for five years and is highlighted by its Connecticut wrapper.  The cigar’s strength is listed as mild in nature.

I like this post because once I had a taste of this cigar. I think I need it now.
