Flavor is where the Torano Master Maduro Robusto shines.  In short, it's complex.  The cigar kicks off with a combination of that familiar mild spice, sweetness, and wood.  The spice is not overpowering at all.  The second third features more spice and wood, plus some chocolate.  The final third is characterized by mostly chocolate, coffee, and sweetness.

This is not the first time Torano has impressed me with one of his cigars, and it probably won’t be the last.  The Master Maduro Robusto’s variety of flavors was superb, and the cigar’s attractive appearance and perfect burn also passed the test.  I’d recommend the Master Maduro to anyone looking for a flavorful, yet smooth cigar from a solid brand.  You can find a Robusto for around $6 to $7 per single, which is not cheap, but not too high considering what you are getting in return.  Look for the Torano Master Maduro in boxes of 21 as well.

The Torano Master Maduro earns a rating of 3.75 out of four stars.

La Flor Dominicana Ligero Cabinet Oscuro Torpedito

laflortorpedito2

The Ligero Cabinet Oscuro Torpedito from La Flor Dominicana was introduced via the 2012 IPCPR show in Orlando, Florida.  It was just one of many additions to the brand introduced at the show, with others being the Limitado V and Oro Tubos, just to name a couple.  The Torpedito is the latest addition to the Ligero Cabinet Oscuro line, and it supposedly packs some nice power in its rather small form factor.  Well, enough with the intro, let’s get on with the review.

The Torpedito size in the La Flor Dominicana Ligero Cabinet Oscuro line measures 4 3/4 x 50.  Previously released sizes in the line range from the 4 1/4 x 40 L200 all the way up to the 7 x 54 Mysterio. The Ligero Cabinet Oscuro Torpedito features a Dominican filler and binder, while the wrapper is Ecuadorian Sumatra Oscuro.  Strength-wise, the La Flor Dominicana Ligero Cabinet Oscuro is said to be full-bodied, which is no surprise if you are familiar with the brand.
