There's a good amount of flavor in the Friends and Family.  It begins with sweetness, which transitions to cream and cedar.  It's definitely medium-bodied at this point.  It picks up a bit in the second third, with spice and leather.  Towards the end of the second third, the cigar goes into some chocolate and coffee notes.  The final third is sweet, creamy, and chocolaty.

I definitely enjoyed the Friends and Family from Viaje.  The cigar looked great, burned, well, and offered a nice variety of flavors to keep me entertained from beginning to end.  It seems to be in the medium to full-bodied range of strength, so I think that both beginners and experienced smokers could enjoy it.  It is limited and carries a price of about $15 per single.  At that price point, I suggest picking a few up for a special occasion that you can celebrate with your friends and family (no pun intended).

The Viaje Friends and Family Cadeau earns a rating of 3.75 out of four stars.

San Cristobal Seleccion del Sol Toro

alt

In case you are not familiar with San Cristobal cigars, they are produced by Ashton.  The talented Garcia family is responsible for blending them, so you know there is some serious talent behind their production.  The Seleccion del Sol line was originally released in 2009.  It’s said to be rich, complex, and medium to full-bodied in strength.  I will be smoking one of the line’s Toro cigars for this review.

The Seleccion del Sol Toro measures 6 x 52.  The line also comes in the following sizes: the 4 1/2 x 50 Fireplug, 5 x 52 Robusto, 5 1/2 x 52 Belicoso, and the 7 x 50 Churchill.  The cigar features a filler blend of tobaccos from Nicaragua.  Its wrapper is the composition’s highlight, as it is made up of Nicaraguan Sun Grown tobacco that was grown on the Garcia’s Estrella farm located in Esteli.
