Tabacos Baez Serie H

The Tabacos Baez line is one made by My Father Cigars, which is owned by the family well-known amongst cigar circles as the Garcias. More specifically, the brand is headed by the famous Don Pepin Garcia himself as well as his son, Jaime, and his daughter, Janny. The Baez part of the cigar's moniker refers to the Cuban town that was the birthplace of Don Pepin and Jaime.

The Tabacos Baez Serie H was originally introduced to the public back in November of 2009 at the Big Smoke events in Las Vegas and New York. Although it may not be an entirely new cigar to some, it will now be available on a wider scale to many, as My Father Cigars has decided that it will distribute it to various cigar retailers across the country.

The Tabacos Baez Serie H is handmade in Esteli, Nicaragua. It has a Nicaraguan Cuban-seed filler that is topped with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. The Habano wrapper that is used gives the cigar the H part of its name. The Serie H is said to be medium-bodied in strength and is characterized by notes of cream, coffee, wood, and more. Among the sizes offered are the 5x50 Famosos, the 5 1/2x52 Favoritos, and the 6 1/2x52 Monarcas. The Serie H comes in boxes of 20 and retails for around $6 to $8 per single.

CAO La Traviata Animado

The La Traviata is one of the most highly rated cigar lines from CAO. In fact, you can tell it is somewhat of the brand's flagship since it is the first thing you see when you visit CAO's website. Due to the success of the line, CAO has decided to add another size to the lineup: the Animado.

The La Traviata Animado measures 5 5/8x46, making it the thinnest cigar offered from the line. There are three other sizes that were previously released: the 5x50 Divino, the 6x52 Radiante, and the 7x54 Intrepido. The 5 5/8x46 measurements of the Animado make it a Corona Gorda, and it is the favorite size of Jon Huber, who is CAO's director of lifestyle marketing. Although the Animado size was previously turned down, it finally received enough votes to recommend its production.

The La Traviata Animado is handmade at CAO's Fabrica de Tabacos in Esteli, Nicaragua and is considered to be medium to full-bodied. Its filler blend is a combination of tobaccos from Nicaragua and the Dominican Republic, and it has a Cameroonian binder. The Animado is topped off with an Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. Smokers can expect to pay around $5 for a single, and it comes in boxes of 20.
