La Gloria Cubana Artesanos de Tabaqueros

To follow up the successful release of its Artesanos de Miami line, La Gloria Cubana has decided to release the Artesanos de Tabaqueros line. La Gloria Cubana is a brand owned by General Cigar, and it has decided to release this new line of cigars as a tribute to the craftsmanship performed by tabaqueros, or rollers. The Artesanos de Tabaqueros is the fifth line from the La Gloria Cubana brand.
The previously released Artesanos de Miami line was produced at Miami's El Credito factory. Only ten premium rollers were permitted to partake in the production process of the Artesanos de Miami to ensure quality, and it was finally released in 2008 on a limited scale. This time around, with the Artesanos de Tabaqueros line, a similar concept is in place, although with a few changes.
The primary difference between the two is that the Artesanos de Tabaqueros line will be produced at the El Credito factory in the Dominican Republic. The workforce used to assemble the Tabaqueros line will be almost twice that of the Artesanos de Miami line, with 18 rollers participating. This definitely is not the first cigar to be produced at the Dominican El Credito factory, as the company moved operations there during the cigar boom of the mid-1990's.
The composition of the Artesanos de Tabaqueros is a unique one, as it is the first cigar offered from General Cigar to use two wrappers. The filler blend is a combination of tobaccos from the Dominican Republic and Honduras. Encasing the cigar is a combination of Connecticut Shade and a Ecuadorian Sumatra wrappers. The Artesanos de Tabaqueros also marks the first time that La Gloria Cubana has used a Connecticut Shade leaf in its cigars. The components used to make the cigar are all aged at least five years from General Cigar's own tobaccos.
The Artesanos de Tabaqueros line will offer three sizes: the 6x50 “650”, the 6x52 “652”, and the 7x50 “750. At least you won't have trouble remembering the names, as each is obviously catered after the cigar's size. Each size will come in boxes of 25, and you can expect to pay around $8 to $10 for a single. Be on the lookout for this line, as it should be in stores now.
That concludes today's edition of new cigar releases. Hopefully you found some new sticks to add to your shopping list. See you next time!
