Hello all and welcome to this back-to-back edition of new releases to supplement Monday's update. Today we will see some new offerings from Miami Cigar, La Flor Dominicana, and Rocky Patel.
New offerings from Miami Cigar & Co.
Head of Miami Cigar and Company, Nestor Miranda, is aiming to create a stronger presence for his cigars within brick and mortar retailers across the country. In order to do so, Miami Cigar is planning the release of various new lines with a “smoke shop only” mentality. Rather than being made available online or through mail catalogs, the new Guillermo Leon brand as well as the La Aurora Corojo line will be two selections you will have to buy in the flesh. Although Miami Cigar is already the driving force behind such brands as Don Lino, La Aurora, and the Nestor Miranda Collection, they hope to expand even more, this time on more of a personal level.
The Guillermo Leon brand is somewhat of a breakthrough cigar for the man behind the moniker, as it marks the first cigar bearing his name. Previously, he helped in the production of the popular Leon Jimenes line. With the new Leon brand, the aim is to present smokers with a stronger cigar that carries a bit of a kick to it and offers complexity as well.
The Guillermo Leon's filler is a blend of tobaccos from four nations: the Dominican Republic, Nicaragua, Brazil, and Peru. It features a double binder of Cameroon and Dominican Corojo tobaccos. The Cameroon tobacco adds some sweetness, while the Dominican Corojo provides strength. Topping off the cigar is a Ecuadorian Habano wrapper. It will be offered in four different sizes: the 5 1/2x 42 Corona, the 6 x 47 Gran Corona, the 6 x 58 Gran Toro, and the 6 1/4x 52 Belicoso. Once released, expect to pay around $7 to $10 per single, depending on size.
