cignewrelease113 It's been a while since we have discussed new releases, so here are some new cigars for you to add to your humidor. Keep reading to find out about new selections from H. Upmann, Hammer + Sickle, Gran Habano, Davidoff, and Tatuaje.

H. Upmann Noellas Glass Jar

Habanos S.A. has decided to revive a blast from the past by releasing the new H. Upmann Noellas glass jar. Noellas had the distinction of being just one of four H. Upmann sizes that were sold in jars during the Post-revolutionary days. Habanos S.A. originally produced this antique packaging that was discontinued in the 1980's. The jar's resurrection was previously set to be introduced to the public in 2009, but that was delayed until now.

The glass jar itself is a collector's item, and it comes packed with 25 Noellas. The jar is more than just looks, however, as its airtight seal supposedly allows the Noellas to develop a unique flavor over time. Each of the cigars measures 5 3/8 x 42 and is considered to appeal to those seeking a light to medium smoke.

Production has been limited to just 5,000 jars, and they will only be available at La Casa del Habano stores across the globe.

Hammer + Sickle Berlin Wall

Hammer + Sickle is a lifestyle brand that produces vodka as well as cigars. The brand's products are usually known for their labels that feature a crossed hammer and sickle, which are recognized as symbols of the former Soviet Union. While some may see the use of such symbols as a promotion of Communism, Eric Hanson, the brand's owner, did not intend to spark such ideas. To clear up any misconception's about his brand, Hanson decided to release the Berlin Wall cigar to celebrate the fall of the wall.

Tabacos Rancho Jamastran is in charge of producing the Berlin Wall cigar in Honduras. Each cigar is decorated by a rustic copper band. A blend of Dominican, Honduran, and Nicaraguan tobaccos are used that come together to form a medium-bodied smoke. The Berlin Wall is said to bring back a taste found in many pre-embargo Cuban cigars, and features notes of earth, leather, spice, and wood.

The Berlin Wall is only the second release from Hammer + Sickle. To promote the cigar, Hanson had a 6,400 pound piece of the actual wall shipped to New Orleans for this year's IPCPR trade show. The Berlin Wall will come in three sizes and only be available at select dealers. Production is limited and capped at around 500 boxes.
