Tatuaje The Face

It appears as if Tatuaje's owner, Pete Johnson, has a thing for horror movies. Either that, or he knows how to market, as he released his The Face cigar just in time for the Halloween season.
The Face is the third release from Tatuaje's Monster series. The Monster series was created as a tribute to horror films, and has hit the streets the past few years around Halloween. In 2008, Johnson released the Frank, a cigar tribute to Frankenstein. That was followed in 2009 with the release of the Dracula-inspired Drac. The Face, meanwhile, is 2010's edition, and it pays homage to the Leatherface character from the 1970's cult film, the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
The Face comes in one size, 6 3/8 x 56. Johnson chose the 6 3/8 length to mimic the actual height of the actor who played the Leatherface character, Gunnar Hansen, who stood at 6-foot-four. The thick 56 ring gauge was chosen since the character had a heavy build. The Face features a Nicaraguan interior and a Mexican wrapper made from the Seco leaf. Instead of using a fancy band, Johnson opted to decorate the cigar with a torn piece of tobacco wrapped around the head. The torn tobacco gives the cigar more of a dirty, edgy look, and it even arouses memories of the skin mask worn by Leatherface in the movie.
Only 13 retailers were selected to distribute The Face on October 13. Production was limited to 666 boxes of 13 cigars, as well as 1,300 boxes of ten.
