Arango Cigar Co. has introduced Finsbury, a new
popularly-priced pipe tobacco, available in 6 blends, and packaged in 12-ounce
airtight bags. This is the first pipe tobacco to use the Finsbury name, long
recognized in the briar pipe industry. According to Michael Gold,
president of Arango, "These 12-ounce bags are the fastest growing category in
the pipe tobacco market. The wide selection of these blends are among the
favorites of pipe smokers."
Finsbury tobacco, manufactured for Arango by Altadis U.S.A. in Richmond,
Virginia, is divided into natural, aromatic and flavored blends. All 6 blends
are enhanced by adding subtle, delicate flavors, with Cherry being the most
bold. Each blend is identified by a color-coded bag. The natural and aromatic
blends include:
- Natural: Aged American Burleys and imported flue-cured Virginias, blended
with a light touch of cognac to enhance the smooth flavor;
- Black Cavendish: 100% fire-cured tobacco, steam sweated for smoothness;
Black and Gold: Cavendish, Bright Virginia, and #1 grade Burleys, for a cool,
slow burning smoke.
The flavored choices consist of:
- Cherry: A blend of fine Cavendish, flavored with cherry, full-aromatic and
full-bodied, guaranteed gentle, with no tongue bite;
- Vanilla: An all-time favorite, with #1 grade American AAA Burley,
Cavendish, and Virginia tobaccos, aged in an exclusive vanilla essence;
- Whiskey: Imported and domestic tobaccos, blended in the European
tradition, enhanced with aged American whiskeys for great taste and aroma.
Finsbury pipe tobacco retails for $12.95 per bag. All selections are now
available from tobacco retailers nationwide.
